This fantastic safari includes Tanzania’s Northern Parks of Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Manayara – home to the annual migration when zebra and gazelle join the wildebeests’ trek for fresh grazing. Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, thousands of eland, kongoni, topi, Gran’ts gazelle and smaller groups of elephant and giraffe. Ngorongoro crater is for sure worth a visit too with its microcosm of East African scenery and game. The crater is the best place to see Black Rhino in Tanzania as well as prides of lion that include the magnificent black-maned males. Birdlife is impressive in this area with Manyara alone boasting with a bird count of over 400 species.
Friday you will be met at OR Tambo Airport and assisted onto your aircraft. Overnight on aircraft en-route to Tanzania. Early morning arrival on Saturday, where you start your safari. Visit Lake Manyara en-route to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area where you overnight. On Sunday you enjoy a Ngorongoro Crater tour, with exciting game viewing. Overnight in the Nogorongoro Crater. Monday drive to the Serengeti. En-route stop at a Masaai Village and Oduvai Gorge. Overnight at Serengeti Wilderness Camp. Tuesday and Wednesday you will enjoy game drives in the Serengeti. Overnight both nights at the Serengeti Wilderness Camp. On Thursday you drive back to Arusha, with an option to fly from the Serengeti to Arusha at an additional cost. Overnight at an Arusha Hotel. Friday morning you will be met and transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport for your return flight to Johannesburg.
