Africa Road Travel

Africa Road Travel is an accredited and well-established inbound Southern African Tour Operator and professional Ground Handlers.

Our parent company Cape AgriTours was established in 1996, and eight years later, in 2004 we opened independent Cape Town offices.  Since then the company has grown and evolved exponentially.

With the years of accumulated professional industry knowledge and experience, we enjoy special contracts with many Hotels, Guest Houses, Lodges, Camps and Resorts.  We are therefore in a position to offer preferential rates, with local attention, free assistance with your vacation plans, a free ground handling service and overall discount prices.

Over the years we have established excellent relationships with all our suppliers for accommodation, air charters, car hire, tour guiding services and sightseeing venues in Southern Africa.  Our service providers and preferred partners have been hand picked for their unquestionable business ethics and quality of service to our clients.  Our expertise covers Southern Africa (South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Kenya, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe), and the idyllic Indian Ocean Islands (Zanzibar, Maldives, Mauritius and Seychelles).

Adele Walters

Adele was born in Stellenbosch in the heart of the beautiful Cape Winelands, and after school went straight to work as an au pair in the Benelux. On her return to South Africa in the mid 1990’s, her first job back home was as an official for South Africa’s historic first democratic elections. Following this, she spent considerable time travelling throughout southern Africa, and during this time successfully completed her Diploma in Tourist Guiding and spent a year co-coordinating functions on top of Cape Town’s Table Mountain. She also worked for one of the best, small inbound luxury travel operators in the country, where she was involved in planning and managing top-end luxury inbound and incentive travel for Americans and Europeans to southern Africa. When this company was sold to a large corporate group, she felt that in a commercialised environment, she could no longer supply her clients with the same standard of service a small intimate company could provide. The natural step was for Adele to set up for herself. By combining her years of experience in the southern African tourism industry, dedication and practical knowledge of South Africa, and professional and enthusiastic customer care, Adele now flourishes in her position as Senior Consultant for Road Travel.

Robin Grobler

Robin has a more eclectic background than most. Born in Gauteng, he studied fine arts before travelling extensively abroad representing his country internationally as a Springbok athlete. Previous work experience includes a decade of foreign exchange, when he managed the exchange control corporate business for a major banking institution in the Western Cape, and was a credit analyst for a large financial institution. Travelling in his home country of South Africa has always been one of Robin’s main passions, and he also has a very keen interest in architecture and comparative religion. With his good organisational and business background and travel knowledge, Robin has made his presence known in the travel and conference industry, both locally and internationally.
